Ubiquity on the high street

82% of people who voted in our online poll believe high street stores have become stale and uninteresting.

Asgeir Johannesson, head of the investment company that owns House of Fraser, feels the duplication and ubiquity across many of the stores is one of the reasons the high street has become so dull and plans to spice things up a little in their stores. But this still leaves dozens of high street retailers who are lagging behind on the innovation stakes.

What do you think? Do you agree that many high street stores lack originality? What should be done to reverse this apparent trend? We would also love to hear your views on which retailers are already on the road to differentiation and standing out from the crowd.
