Long term friends of 20.20, Arsenal FC played their final home game of the season at the weekend and manager Arsène Wenger spoke to the official matchday programme about the ongoing improvements of the Emirates stadium known as Arsenalisation.

“As a home for Arsenal Football Club, this stadium is getting better and better” said the long-serving manager.

Retail Week’s Stores Editor John Ryan decided to put Tesco under the spotlight in the latest edition of the magazine and invited 20.20 Managing Director, Jim Thompson along for his expert opinion.

Much is documented about the Tesco Extra and Tesco Metro/ Express formats but the midsize ‘Superstores’ that actually make up more of their estate than the edge of town super huge ‘Extra’ stores seem to escape the radar.

Henry statue

Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry was unable to hold back the tears when the bronze statue immortalising him forever was unveiled at Emirates Stadium on Friday. Having set the brief and art directed the production of this and two other statues of fellow Club heroes Herbert Chapman and Tony Adams, 20.20 were invited to a special ceremony where all three sculptures were seen for the first time by expectant fans and the world’s press.

Arsenal Football Club has today honoured a trio of Club legends by unveiling three statues outside Emirates Stadium, 20.20 worked with the Club to set the creative brief and art direct the production of the statues.

Innovative 1930s manager Herbert Chapman; defensive stalwart Tony Adams and goal scoring hero Thierry Henry have all been commemorated by the bronze statues, which were today unveiled at Emirates Stadium by Arsenal Chairman, Peter Hill-Wood.

Last night the WM Club at Emirates Stadium played host to the final leg of the Design Bites tour run in conjunction with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards.

The aim of the tour was to link eating and drinking with cutting edge design and the venues were chosen from those shortlisted for a Restaurant and Bar Design Award earlier this year. 20.20 were of course honoured to be asked to represent the WM Club alongside Arsenal Football Club.

20.20 are thrilled to have been shortlisted for not one but two Retail Interior Awards for our latest work with Liberty on their new Beauty Hall.

We are particularly proud of this achievement considering the new look department only opened for trading last month. The Awards, now in their 14th year are part of Retail Week and recognise the best UK retail interiors and shopfitting. They showcase the tremendous efforts and achievements of retail designers who consistently strive for excellence.

Club Level has done the double this week and bagged its second award in as many days.

After winning the AIS award on Tuesday, there was further cause for celebration when late last night, in the splendid setting of the Camp Nou in Barcelona, Club Level won ‘Project of the Year’ at the Stadium Business Awards.

The glittering awards ceremony took place during the Stadium Business Summit in front of an audience of more than 220 senior sports industry professionals from around the globe.

20.20 are extremely pleased to have received the Association of Interior Specialist (AIS) award for our work with Arsenal and Portview on the interior fit out of Club Level at Arsenal.

The project was up against tough competition from The Walbrook Building in London but was announced as the winner at a prestigious ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel earlier today.

The AIS Awards recognise and promote high levels of craftsmanship and thus is held in particularly high regard.

Beauty Hall visual

Eclectic department store Liberty will double the size of its beauty offer this year with the help of their friends at 20.20.

We previously worked with Liberty when we designed the former beauty hall on Regent Street and thus have a a deep understanding of the brand and exactly what Liberty stand for so were delighted to be asked once again to design this new beauty emporium, which is set to open in June 2011.
