Proving the case for Bricks-and-mortar Retail

The success of etailer Amazon is well documented and according to the latest set of figures published for the online giant, it looks set to continue. The latest edition of Retail Week looks at Amazon’s ‘relentless expansion’ and explores how fellow online and offline retailers can best compete.

Ten examples of best practice solutions are cited including 20.20’s work with Liberty on their new Beauty Hall in Summer 2011. This is used to highlight how a great store environment that offers ‘the ability to touch and test a product’ is simply unbeatable when it comes to customer experience. That if retailers make the best of their bricks-and-mortar offerings with the way they present brands and merchandise products as we helped Liberty to do, they can offer something that Amazon simply can’t, a fact that is backed up by the performance results of the Beauty Hall since it reopened.
