Jim Thompson
Managing Director
Jim is managing director of 20.20 and has led the business since January 2004. He has helped orchestrate the business’s growth as a leading European strategic design consultancy, specialising in retail and leisure.
Jim oversees the development of the firm’s strategy, offer and people – developing and expanding the business focus to new sectors. Building on 20.20’s reputation for ensuring clients’ commercial objectives are achieved by giving customers a better, more meaningful and personalised experience.
Jim also serves as a client director on accounts, and has a real expertise in food and specialty retail; sports and stadium brand experiences; and betting and gaming experiences. His more recent clients have included Arsenal Football Club, American Express, Victor Chandler, Pets at Home, Hobbycraft and Nokia.
He joined the business in August 1996 as director of brand and communications and was responsible for the rebranding of Sainsbury’s Supermarkets.
Prior to joining Jim specialised in major brand identity programmes and led the Saab dealership rebranding project in Europe and Mitsubishi Motor’s global identity and showroom programme.
Jim is a regular contributor to periodicals and speaker at conferences. He is a board director of the Design Business Association (DBA).
Jim graduated from Southampton Solent University with a degree in Graphic Design.

Mariann Wenckheim
Food & speciality retail
With over 20 years experience in international brand and retail strategy consulting, Mariann is the partner and director at 20.20 responsible for ensuring that our approach is relevant to our clients’ needs today and in the future.
Mariann has worked across a variety of industries including food and specialty retail, fashion and department stores, financial services, automotive and telecommunications. Working closely with senior management teams at Kingfisher, Waitrose, Rewe, Valora, Prenatal, DeBijenkorf, Electrolux, Rank Group and Orange, she drives change to deliver success.
As partner to her clients, Mariann has a deep understanding of the strategic processes required to deliver successful and innovative propositions. She has worked on major strategic retail and branding projects in the UK, China and across Europe.
Mariann joined 20.20 in 1997 to set up 20.20 RADAR – the international market and consumer intelligence unit focused on retailing and consumer behaviour. Prior to moving to London, Mariann was deputy agency director for Lowe/GGK in Warsaw.
She lived and worked in Boston, New York, Milan, Prague and Vienna. Fluent in five languages she regularly writes for, and speaks at international conferences. In her spare time Mariann is also a theatre producer.
Mariann has a BA in Art History and Economics from Wellesley College, Massachusetts, USA

Jon Lee
Creative Director
Jon is creative director at 20.20, responsible for setting the vision and direction of our creative offer. He is a powerful advocate of our collaborative and strategic approach and a firm believer that the world will be a better place when people feel more involved and connected.
As well as overseeing the creative direction of the business, he has also acted as creative lead on a number of brand identity and retail programmes including Debenhams, Arsenal Football Club, Silverstone, Morrisons, Abbey Road Studios, B&Q, Mecca Bingo, Odeon Cinemas, Threshers Group and Holmes Place in the UK, Prenatal in Italy, MD Retail in Ukraine, KPN in the Netherlands and Marktkauf in Germany.
Before joining 20.20 in 2004, Jon’s clients included Lego, TAG McLaren, Sony, Singapore Airlines, Toyota and FIFA. He has worked at Pepe Jeans, Fitch and Interbrand, and spent two years in Asia working for Star TV and Batey Advertising.
Jon has a BA(Hons) degree in Graphic Design from Reigate School of Art and Design

Andrew Hearn
Online & marketing
Andrew is a Client Director at 20.20 and heads up the Online & Marketing team. He joined 20.20 in June 2009 and brings with him over 20 years experience in marketing communications. Working with retailers and leisure specialists, Andrew has helped some of Europe’s largest brands deliver customer-focused campaigns with a positive return on investment.
Andrew first worked online in 1996 when developing Sony Europe’s web strategy. He subsequently worked on One2One’s website and oversaw its successful rebrand to T-Mobile. In the intervening years Andrew has started his own digital agency (Yard Nine) and worked at SEM, one of the biggest names in player management and football consultancy.
Andrew is an avid fan of social networks and is regular tweeter keeping his followers updated with the latest trends and campaigns. He is a regular speaker at Netforum in Italy, championing customer and brand experience within ecommerce websites.
Andrew holds a HND in Business and Finance from the College of Distributive Trades.

Michael Artis
Sport & entertainment
Michael forges great working partnerships and is driven by success. With over 10 years experience both agency and client-side, his skill is in understanding the dynamics of both. He helps clients set clear and effective paths for the change required.
Having worked across most sectors, clients include Arsenal, B&Q, BAA, St.Pancras International, Sandpiper International, Mecca Bingo, The Belgian Post Office, Guoman Hotel Group and MD Retail Group (Ukraine).
Previously, as well as being our senior Strategist for four years, he was Client Partner at Household Design, leading relationships with Tesco, Dixons Retail and McArthurGlen. Before that, he had a variety of roles during his 5 years at B&Q’s central office, from Multi-channel Project Merchandiser to Category Marketing Manager, culminating as Own Brand Manager in 2005/6.
This retail and strategic background provides Michael with a broad and deep platform from which to seek key truths and make change happen. With the boundaries of retail and leisure witnessing ever-greater convergence, he is perfect to lead our Sports and Entertainment specialism.
Michael is a graduate from Bournemouth University with a first class BA (Hons) in Retail Management.

Sanela Lazic
Fashion & department stores
Specialising in Fashion and Department stores, Sanela uses her love of fashion, expertise and experience to develop 20.20’s client relationships and business across Europe and the UAE. Sanela is a great believer in cultural sensitivity working with international clientele, she has a track record of over ten years building engaging experiences, driving business results from in-depth customer and merchandising insights, and generating effective solutions in rapidly changing environments.
Sanela joined 20.20 in 2005 and was appointed creative director in 2007, where she was responsible for the environmental design team’s overall performance, client relationships and design quality. She has extensive experience of working with brands across number of retail and leisure sectors.
Prior to joining 20|20, Sanela worked with Caulder Moore, Fitch and HMKM. During this period she was part of a team or individually managed the delivery of design projects across luxury to mass retail, primarily for international brands in fashion, department stores and beauty.

Sanela holds BA (Hons), Interior Design, Metropolitan University London.

Margot Loudon
Strategy Director
Margot has built a set of skills, which combine her product training with her knowledge of global branding and retailing. Using a range of tools she has analysed and pinpointed how retail and leisure businesses can better target people to develop and deliver compelling brand and experiential opportunities.
As head of strategy, Margot has led her team to develop highly effective business strategies, from new product strategies and naming programmes for B&Q Cooke & Lewis and Waitrose’s Love Life; to retail strategies for Glasgow Museums, Nokia and Sony Ericsson; as well as repositioning brands such as Abbey Road Studios and Prenatal in Italy.
Before joining 20.20, Margot was the research manager at Seymour Powell Foresight for five years, where she led the pan European customer insight team on a range of new product development strategies for Samsung, Nokia, Unilever and Ford.
Margot graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BA(Hons) degree in Three Dimensional Design.

Lorraine Tovey
Client Services Director
Lorraine joined the client services team in August 2004 and brought with her experience as both an interior designer and project manager from a variety of architectural and design practices, including a management position in Nicole Farhi’s home division.
Now, as head of client services at 20.20, Lorraine champions our client service promise, managing and supporting our team of account directors, instilling a consistent quality of service and creating rewarding relationships with our clients.
As an account director, Lorraine has partnered 20.20’s largest and longest standing clients, including B&Q, Prenatal, Mecca Bingo and Pets at Home. Working across all sectors, throughout Europe, on projects spanning radical re-invention to evolution step-changes with proven successes. Lorraine’s design background gives her an understanding of the creative design process from concept through to delivery, coupled with her strategic and analytical approach, she works effectively with clients at all levels from CEO to the working group.
Lorraine recently spoke at the GDI conference in Zurich on the power of good client relationships.
Lorraine has a BA(Hons) in Interior Design from London Metropolitan University.
