When we went in search of the best Christmas windows this holiday season, we noticed that a lot of London’s retailers have foregone traditional gingerbread houses, cosy fireplaces and wintery pines in favour of an altogether more otherworldly Christmas. And, if we’re honest, it’s just not making us feel warm and fuzzy.
With less than a week to go until Christmas, Oxford Street retailers are fighting hard for their share of the Christmas shopping pie - so we took a trip to see which retailers had best captured the Christmas spirit in their windows.
It was clear to see that Selfridges, John Lewis and Liberty have shoppers stopping in their tracks to take in their displays.
Here at 20.20, we are becoming increasingly convinced that the best part of Christmas is November. The shoppers are still civil, the adverts are still novel, the tunes have yet to cloy and the spiced lattes have yet to curdle. Also, London looks like the above.
So, we thought it was probably the perfect opportunity for a little early-bird look at this year’s Christmas windows.
