Truth

When TUI UK unveiled plans for a new addition to their Marella Cruises fleet, their ambition was not only to modernise the cruise customer experience – but to attract a younger audience of holidaymakers and families on board. Together, we defined a design concept for Marella Discovery that would deliver a range of family-friendly and trade-up environments with a signature TUI smile.

We designed and branded spaces across the ship, from live entertainment venues and bars to the casino, spa and teen hangout, making sure each represents a distinct offer which actively enhances every Marella Discovery holiday. We created eight dining venues including two signature restaurants: the street-food inspired Snack Shack by the pool and a contemporary a la carte eatery Gallery 47 ˚. Balancing the pace and flow of the ship means guests can enjoy these spaces throughout the day, with quirky design details to discover on every visit. Marella Discovery’s maiden voyage took place in summer 2017.

We continued our relationship with Marella Cruises, adapting our design concept for the Marella Discovery 2, the Marella Explorer (unveiled in summer 2018) and Marella Explorer 2, set to launch in 2019.
